Smoking, Chewing Tobacco and Vaping
We encourage leaders to take one additional step toward setting a good example for the youth of our council. Please take a weekend break from the use of all tobacco and vaping products. Young minds are impressionable, and Scouting youth frequently look to their leaders as role models.
Youth Protection
Scouting America has adopted and implemented policies for the safety and well-being of its members – youth and adults. Following these policies and ensuring the Rendezvous is a safe environment, the following policies will be enforced:
- All adults accompanying a Scouting Unit and Volunteering to Staff activities must be current with Safeguarding Youth Training. (https://scouting.org/training/youth-protection/)
- Scouting’s Barriers to Abuse will be adhered to such as two-deep Leadership, no bullying, harassment and cyberbullying are prohibited. (https://www.scouting.org/health-safety/gss/)
- Safeguarding Youth Training is free online, you do not need to be registered with Scouting America to complete the course, and SYT certification is valid for 1 year.
